biography

You can call me Rad. I'm madly in love with Rihanna Robyn Fenty. I'm 18 years old, grows a year older every 16th July. I love dancing, laughing & eating. I have high metabolism, that's why I don't really gain weight; and I hate it. And I'm an avid foodie. I eat food when I'm hungry & bored. I'm afraid of elephants, teletubbies & evil clowns. I'm disgusted with poisonous & stinging creatures too. Example given, the bee & the hornet. RAD stands for: R - Romantic A - Amazing, Adorable & Addictive D - Deranged I can be your friend, your enemy or whatsoever. I like quoting. So if you can't handle me at my worst, you can't get me at my best. To me, love means putting someone first before yourself. Add me up & we could talk. I don't believe in fairy tales, but sometimes, life needs fantasy to make our lives feel the magic.

The last time I see your face, it makes me wanna puke.

But not anymore when step-mom & dad told me their life story from a little kid to a teenager. They both told me about the hardship they gotta' go through way back before my generations are born to this world. Hang on, this is gonna be a long one.

Dad's family started of by poverty. He has to help his late mom (granny) to sell the kueh that she baked specially for the kampong. While hi brother (uncle) just do nothing but ask for money. He said it's hard because he has to clean up the nearby coffee shop at night when the shop's closing. When he reached 20s, he worked as a postman (if I'm not wrong, because at this point of time step-mom was talking at the same time and I don't know who to listen to) and told his late dad (gramps) to stop working as a policeman and stay at home and play with the kids (1st brother, 2nd brother & sister) instead. And dad gave his pay to both his parents to spend.

Step-mom's story is a little sad though. Last time, eggs were treated as luxury because not many can afford it. Her sisters (6 altogether including her) have to divide the pieces of a hardboiled egg into equal pieces so the 6 sisters have their equal amount of share.

Next is mum's story. When she stayed in Chiang Mai, Thailand when she was 5, the Thai people can only eat Tom Yam only once a year. That is, their birthday. She still remembers that during her 13th birthday, she got her 13th bowl of Tom Yam (at this point of time, only rich Thai people can get as many bowls they want) from this neighbour. Her sister wants it so badly, that my mum decided to give to her instead because her birthday falls on a December. My mum's birthday is in April, so there's 8 months to go before my aunt's birthday and I don't think so I'll wait 'till my birthday if I'm in my aunt's shoe at that time. I ask mum whether that 13th bowl matters. She just said that it does. Now that her sister (my aunt) has migrated to Amsterdam, eating Tom Yam reminds her of my aunt. Lighten up, I'm going to Amsterdam at the end of this year to meet my aunt during Christmas. Not that I celebrate it or something, only that Christmas is kinda special to me.

Pathetic fallacy: Newsflash, times have changed and we're lucky enough not to live in poverty. Don't take things for granted. I'm still on a break!
